Marie Curie combined extraordinary scientific brilliance with rare courage and perseverance. Born in Poland and later working in France, she transformed science through her pioneering research on radioactivity, a term she helped define. She became the first woman to win a Nobel Prize and remains the only person to win Nobel Prizes in two different sciences, Physics and Chemistry. Her discoveries of polonium and radium opened new paths in medicine and physics. Curie worked under harsh conditions, faced prejudice, and still remained devoted to knowledge and service, making her a timeless symbol of intellect, resilience, and human progress.
